Designer Latsamy Phommaseisy was drawn to the creativity that fashion design provided, growing up she watched in fascination her older sister, who studied textiles in high school, make her own clothes. Latsamy followed in her footsteps and studied textiles in high school also and continued her studies at KvB Institute of Technology on a scholarship majoring in Fashion Design. Whilst at design school Latsamy did work experience at Collette Dinnigan and participated in a number of student exhibitions, including a graduate show at the Sydney Opera House.
The label Latsamy was established in 2008 and featured in the Up & Coming Design Expo 2009 alongside other emerging fashion designers and artists. The label also featured in the industry event Fashion Weekend 2009, and is also featured in a few websites including f.rock, Style Hunter and The Style Mansion.
Earlier this year designer Latsamy Phommaseisy won a national design competition ran by Marie Claire magazine.
The designer Latsamy Phommaseisy is heavily influenced by her love of architecture and theatre, these are constant themes in her designs.
When designing and making her garments, Latsamy focuses on the perfect cut to her garments to create a clean sharp silhouette. The label is aimed at women who appreciate effortless styles with a modern, unique design edge.
