Samantha Chan is a Sydney based fashion designer who has lived and breathed creativity for as long as she can remember. She completed a Bachelor of Design degree from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales in 2005. With a multi-disciplinary background in graphics, textiles and environments design, it is her relentless love of fashion that remains closest to her heart. In 2005, Samantha Chan travelled to Paris and spent the summer developing techniques in haute couture , French draping and millinery. After returning to Sydney and completing an internship within the fashion industry, Samantha Chan launched her namesake label with her Autumn/Winter debut collection, “Girl with a Blue Button”
Samantha Chan lives in a romanticised world of quirky characters and bygone eras. Her creations are drawn from her love of art, graphics, textiles, film, theatre, costume, travel and history. Her clothes are created with soft, natural fabrics and embellished with whimsical details.
