Here's a short presentation of our company, sVENSKT PSYKO.
Before telling you about our vision we'd like to talk a little bit about our background.
WHAT IS SWEDEN?
Sweden, like Australia, is a big country. Not as big, though- we tried to expand a few hundred years ago and the result was a couple of new household dishes, runaway government debt and considerable anxiety towards Russia.
During the past two hundred years we've grown comfortable in our pickle-shaped territory on the Scandinavian peninsula. The last century was largely spent working on socialism, modernism and gender theory.
We like cars, trees, paternal leave, the internet and last- but definitely not least- we love fashion.
WHO IS THE SWEDE? WHO'S THE PSYKO?
The Swede is by nature complex and should be studied at a safe distance with a maximum of concentration and care. She can be proud while feeling ashamed, or megalomaniac while harboring a deep fear of conflict.
The Swede is obsessed with order and quality control. We take a five minute delay as a personal affront; a shirt with torn seam is cause for front page headlines and threats of national boycott.
The upside of our collective madness is its ability to lead us onto new paths, inspiring new ideas and ideals. We're passionate about the latest trend and are constantly on the lookout for new forms of expression.
We follow our heart and listen to our inner voice when it comes to fashion.
This attitude creates a climate where culture and fashion are absolutely cutting-edge, both in quality and novelty. That's also why you should buy sVENSKT PSYKO.
Our Vision
Fashion is about identity, about culture, but is above all about enjoying yourself. Our job is taking care of the fashion, the quality and the other serious stuff. Your job as our customer is to enjoy yourself - if you're having a good time then so are we!
We've noticed in talking about our company that we discuss notions like individualism, freedom and self-realization, and we like to think we have to reasons to.
We do it because we want you to know we care about you and that we're not in it to get rich.
We want you to know we're always conscious of the fact that our brand is never better than our product.
We also want you to know that this makes us pretty awesome!
Our ecological collection
Since the beginning a portion of our collection has been produced from organic, fair trade fabric. At sVENSKT PSYKO we appreciate the importance of sustainable development and social responsibility.
However, we don't like it when products are supplied with cutesy pamphlets and slogans about saving the planet, hugging trees or whatever else. Don't get us wrong. We like trees--we think our customers like trees. We're just not into the pamphlets. We're for saving the planet *at least* until a better alternative is offered to humanity. And when a new, cooler planet is finally found we want sVENSKT PSYKO to tailor the space suits and explore a new world. Until then, though, we'll keep working on our organic and fair
trade line.
